How Peloton Rides with Other Lawyers are Benefiting Metro Volunteer Lawyers—and ME!

Updated: Apr 10, 2022

When I first launched Peloton Sessions rides for Metro Volunteer Lawyer’s (MVL) Barristers Ball, I thought it would be fun to build an online legal community for fitness, AND also do some good towards access to justice issues that our communities face.

However, what I didn’t expect going into the ride was a feeling of camaraderie, a feeling created simply by knowing that the other names on the leaderboard were people who are in my Colorado legal community. Just knowing that put a smile on my face. And also knowing they wouldn’t actually see my (sweaty, red) face or hear my breathlessness during the class was certainly another plus.

As much as I love in-person events (I would deem myself an extreme extrovert if there is such a category) and a good cocktail, I appreciated being able to connect with others without the alcohol and without the small talk - but all while still feeling a sense of community.

Want to check it out for yourself? Please join me and others on the Peloton app for the rest of April and into May. Drop-in for a class and if you can, toss in some money for MVL while you’re at it:

  • Tuesday, April 12th at 5:15 PM, 20 min Groove Ride with Cody Rigsby

  • Saturday, April 16th at 10:30 AM, 20 min Fit Family Yoga Flow: Disney with Kristin McGee

  • Saturday, April 23rd at 1:30 PM, 45 min HIIT & Hills Ride with Robin Arzon

  • Thursday, April 28th at 6:00 AM, 30 min Intervals and Arms ride with Tunde Oyeneyin

  • Wednesday, May 4th at 7:00 PM, 30 min XOXO Ride with Cody Rigsby

  • Monday, May 9th at 6:00 AM, 45 min Classical Slow Flow Yoga with Aditi Shah

Peloton links to the specific classes are updated on the fundraising page weekly, https://gofund.me/ff2344cf.

And finally, be sure to add #MVLRides and #CWBA to your Peloton profile so we can see each other on the leaderboard! I hope you’ll join me in sweat, in good, and in community.
