Dear CWBA Family,
I am humbled and excited by the privilege to serve as the 44th President of this dynamic and prestigious organization. There is real strength in our legal community, and now more than ever is the time to wield that collective power.
Accordingly, our theme for the 2021-22 Bar year is Our Bold Voices. As legal professionals, we have unique platforms from which to amplify voices that historically have been marginalized. Our voices are a vital chorus of energy and conviction. Together, we must continue to advocate for fully equitable systems, promote the advancement of women in the law, and protect the interests and welfare of all women through appropriate legal, social, and political action.
The CWBA’s programming will prioritize this theme by:
Creating opportunities to develop, reclaim, refine, exercise and celebrate our unique individual and collective voices;
Expanding on our impactful advocacy and commitment to productive disruption; and,
Offering unrelenting, continuous learning (and even unlearning).
Additionally, the CWBA will maintain its active work in the judiciary and the legislature, and its ongoing commitment to being a valuable resource for our members while also working in tandem with our sister bar associations. Unwavering values such as gender equality, social justice, and inclusion underpin our work, and are reflected in the output of our committees.
The CWBA also will continue to provide a framework for substantive growth through its CLEs and programming, create a variety of networking engagements, offer mentoring and leadership opportunities, and foster an inclusive environment for both personal and professional well-being. In the coming months, we will roll out avenues that will allow the CWBA to better communicate with our members and supporters, strengthen and reinvigorate our existing programs, and launch new initiatives to help you engage with us and our communities in big, bold ways. We want to hear your ideas, and invite you to participate in shaping the CWBA’s future and become even more active members of this organization.
We are strong individually, but a force together. As the movers and shakers of this legal community, we will continue to change our world—not with a whisper, but with our collective bold voices.
I look forward to working and connecting with you.
With gratitude,
Gina L. Glockner
